Halloween 2009

Have you ever in your life seen a cuter puppy, dinosaur and astronaut? Halloween is so much fun with kids! I love it. And Halloween was so nice here in Las Vegas. Notice Cory in his shorts. I was worried Jax was going to be too hot in his costume. By the time the kids went to a trunk or treat at a ward party, a party at school, and trick or treating, we had sooo much candy. I had to hide it from Jax, he seems to be quite the sugar baby.

We went camping on Halloween eve to Valley of Fire. It was a boys playground! They climbed rocks, we had a campfire, stayed in the old tent trailer. I wish we could do this more!

These were some monsterish snacks I made for Carsons class party- Monster eyeballs (carrots, cream cheese and olives), monster fingers (string cheese, green pepper), and spider crackers. I thought they would be a big hit because I couldn't keep my kids away from them at home, I forget that there are a lot of kids out there that won't touch food that has a vegetable on or in it. That was the scariest moment of my Halloween my friends! Seeing kids turn up their nose to REAL food. Something has to be done. We need a new reality show in America and it should be called- Save the children from obesity and illness- mission: eat your vegetables and like it!

Cory as a pirate at the ward trunk or treat.

My little man with dreds!

Hey, he let me take this picture...he had to know what I would do with it :)

All of our little pumpkins.

Happy Birthday Cory!

My sweet hubby had a birthday, and I just want to tell him publicly how much I love him. He is such a good husband and daddy. He takes really good care of us and has a heart of gold.

We had soccer practice the night of his birthday, so I got some of that silly string for all of the kids and after practice they all attacked him with the string- I thought it was great, the kids thought it was too- I don't know about Cory...

I love you!!!

Cruise

We went on a cruise.... we went from Florida to Key West, then to Cozumel, and then Belize. It was fabulous! The food was great (maybe too great, I brought some home on my hips), the company was great, it was a lot of fun. We took Carson and Tyson and left Jaxon at home with Nana, THANK YOU SO MUCH MOM!!! The pictures are a little out of order, but oh well!

This is a picture in Belize at some Mayan ruins. Our way back down.

This is the boat ride we went on to get to and from the ruins. If you have ever been on that Jungle river ride at Disneyland- it was like that- but faster! I love Tysons face in this picture.

Roger and Colleen after dinner one night.

The kids LOVED going to the kids club they had on the ship. They dressed up like pirates one night and did a parade through the ship.

Scott, Jamie and Jaimee! On the ship.

This is Cory in Key West, Florida. That thing behind his head marks the southernmost point of the United States.

We rented these golf cart type vehicles to ride around the island, they were fun!

A beach on Key West.

This is a place we ate at, it was a fish place. They let the kids get chalk and write on anything they wanted to.

This was our ship, Enchantment of the Sea.

They had this bungee jumping thing on top of the ship. This is Cory doing it- it was so fun! It was like you were on top of the world, you could see only ocean in every direction.

This is us out on the deck at sunset after dinner one night, BLISSFULL.

This is when we were at Cozumel going out on a boat to go snorkeling, I was so happy- but you can't really tell :)

Ellie and Cole were so brave!

Carson and Tyson snorkeled too!
After we snorkeled, we went to a private beach with all of these fun things out in the water, slides, a climbing mountain, kayaks. FUN, FUN, FUN

Carson held a monkey!

In Cozumel, a big storm rolled in, another cruise ship got too close and CRASHED into our ship!
They wouldn't let us on the ship, we were in torrential rain and stranded on the dock with a bunch of drunk people and panic-y old people. That part was not so fun.

Cute Tyson and his Cozumel souvenir at dinner.

We had a great trip!

September

Tyson's first day of Preschool

He was a little nervous and he did not want me to take his picture when we got to his school.

But he did let me take his picture before we left, what a handsome little man! He is always so excited to show me what he did after school, we can't leave the driveway until he has shown me EVERYTHING he did that day and told me all about it.

We went on a hike to Mt. Charleston with some friends. It was a great day up there, nice to get out of the heat, and it's only about 30 minutes away from our house.

This is Tyson and his little friend Hailey. I thought this was sooo cute. I hope they get married :)
She is so cute and has GREAT parents whom we love.
In about 20 years of course...

Jaxon got invited to his first birthday party... it was a puppy party. How cute is he!?!!!! And what a cute idea for a party!

August

Happy Birthday Jaxon!

My BABY is now 2! That went by fast. He got some cars ~ his favorite thing, always has one in each hand ~ and some clothes.

I made him a CAR cake. I don't know why I think that just because I watch all of those cake decorating shows on TV that it makes me capable of making a decent looking theme cake. Oh well, the kids liked it, so that is all that matters, right?

We celebrated by having some friends over and having a little swim party.

Carson's first day of 1st grade.
My handsome boy is gone all day now. Of course his favorite part of school is lunch. I used to pack his lunch and then he saw what the lunch ladies were serving, and he had to have it!

He also played basketball over the summer. Let's just say it was not his favorite thing. But maybe when he is a little older, has some friends on his team, he will like it better. He started to catch on to the game towards the end of the season. The games were exciting- the parents take 6 year old basketball pretty seriously.

Way to go Crickets!

Our Summer Vacation

We decided to run a half marathon to kick off our vacation. It was good. Look how happy we are that we are done!
Cory did great, he ran with me the first mile and I could just tell that his competitiveness was kicking in and wanted to take off. It's ok, I really prefer running alone anyway. I crank the music up and just go...not as fast as Cory though. It was fun training with him, we have this new thing in our lives that we can talk about and compare mileage and time and it has been really fun.

These are some friends that ran the race too, Cindy and Kari. Cindy is running in the St. George marathon...Go Cindy!
Cory got this shot of me seconds before I crossed the finish line. I still remember what I was thinking, and it was that I hoped I could make it just a few more steps before my legs melted into the pavement and I fell flat on my face. The last couple of miles were HARD. At about mile 11, a man with a prosthetic leg somehow ended up running in front of me. It was just what I needed to keep me going. I thought "if he can do it, so can I" and I just kept focusing on that one leg and being grateful for my two.
This race was kind of like having a baby...stay with me... :) it was exciting training and getting all ready, the race itself was good up until the painful last couple of miles, oh and the 3 days after that I couldn't walk, but then you feel great after- accomplished something great - joy that it is over, and then somehow you forget all the bad parts and want to do it again!
We went swimming at the hotel pool after.
We actually ran through Bryce Canyon, it was beautiful! We went and did some sight seeing. Hi Tyson!
In the pic. below, the boys are right below that first ledge. They wanted to follow the trail all the way down. Maybe someday, but not on a day we ran a half marathon.
Thank you to Roger and Colleen for coming down to be with the boys during the race!

We then headed up north some more to Bountiful where we spent the rest of the week with family. We went to Cherry Hill, a favorite of ours when we lived in Kaysville. The boys still love it. We went with Mom, Allie, Ryan and Reuben. I didn't take very many pics, yikes!

Cory getting some rest, and Jax.
We also went to the rodeo with my Dad and Shellie's family.
The best part was the high flying motorcycles at the end. The boys loved it.
Thanks grandpa Jeep!
Seriously Shell, you have to know that when you pull funny faces at me in pictures that I MUST post it here...hee hee :)
We went to Lagoon.
Jax driving for the first time.
Carson is just sitting back enjoying the ride.
Ellie, Grandma B., Carson and Cade.

Then on Pioneer day, we made rockets and launched them. This is Cory and Tyson checking one out.
Getting ready for blast off.
And the road trip back home. I think that was an ice cream sandwich. Fun times in the car!
